The decomposed skeleton of a young woman is found in a shopping cart, but due to an aging disease she is reconstructed by Angela as an 80-year-old woman. Booth and Brennan investigate and are led to a former caretaker of the victim, but their lead is shaky and they have trouble finding out who would want to kill such an innocent young woman. Meanwhile, Max Keenan, Brennan’s father, reappears with information from her past. Also, Hodgins and Angela walk down the aisle, but everything doesn’t go as planned.

Dexter has hard times distancing himself from Miguel, after all he's still Dexter's Best Man. Rita has her own dilemma now that she knows Miguel's been seeing another woman.
Miguel finds a new target for Dexter. Dexter is asked to do the unthinkable for an old friend. Rita learns Miguel's wife believes Miguel is being unfaithful.
Miguel is put to the test by Dexter. Rita is forced to reconsider her choices. Debra begins to feel like she had some part to play in a homicide case she's working on.
While Dexter struggles with how to handle Rita’s desire for them to move in together before they get married, Miguel tells Dexter about a husband who has gotten away with killing two of his wives for financial gain. For Dexter, this seems like the perfect candidate to satisfy his dark urge and his need, like every man under relationship pressures, to get away. Dexter tracks the murderer to Bimini. While on the hunt, Rita has a medical emergency and he is nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Debra works with Anton, her confidential informant to track down one of Freebo’s criminal confidants. But Debra finds herself oddly attracted to Anton.
After a failed marriage proposal, Dexter attempts to convince Rita that he wants more than a financial merger and fatherhood. He wants a family with Rita. Deb lands a new case. Miguel's brother, Ramon, is dead set on finding Oscar's murderer, which worries Dexter and Miguel.
After Dexter meets a pedophile at the grocery store, who's set his sights on Astor, he has to make a decision about his code. Miguel and Dexter both know the new body that showed up skinned wasn't Freebo's doing, and need to find a way to convince the Homicide Squad. Dexter is still wrestling with his potential role in the baby's life.
Dexter (Michael C. Hall) and Rita (Julie Benz) have to make a big decision about their family, forcing Dexter to think about what it means to be responsible for kids. Is he ready to commit to this new family? Meanwhile, Dexter and Assistant District Attorney, Miguel Prado (Jimmy Smits), find themselves hunting down the same murderer, Freebo, the man accused of killing Miguel’s little brother. As a result, Debra and the Homicide department are tasked to find Freebo. Debra (Jennifer Carpenter), through her supposedly dirty partner, Quinn, is introduced to a C.I. and musician named Anton, in the hopes of drumming up a lead on where Freebo may be. With all of these hunters in play, can Dexter find Freebo before anyone else?
Dexter has put his life back together but things may fall apart soon. His new victim is also being targeted by Assistant District Attorney Miguel Prado. Deb has to decide how to handle Internal Affairs, as they want her to turn on her new partner.
