Making the PHD's case more difficult is one victim's cousin who takes on the role of vigilante when he suspects the murderer is from an African-American gang. Can the PHD solve the crime before an all-out gang war results? Adding to Brenda's stress is her continued health problem. Once she receives a diagnosis, will she be able to recover?

Rated: TV-14-V Brenda and the PHD investigate the murder of a personal trainer in a restaurant parking lot. Their prime suspect is the possessive, short-tempered husband of the woman with whom the victim was involved. Complicating the investigation: their only witness is the restaurant's frightened parking valet, who has OCD. At the same time, Pope's budget constraints means the PHD must complete anti-terrorism training in order to receive additional funding from the federal government. This makes work a challenge when they must all don haz-mat suits and simulate an emergency drill.

Rated: TV-14-V The PHD finds themselves in the middle of a Hollywood-type case when they are forced to deal with a man who claims to have murdered seven people, but who refuses to identify himself. Progress in Brenda's personal life comes in the form of her house-hunt with Fritz.

Rated: TV-14-DV Racing against the clock, Brenda and the PHD search for a missing 8-year-old girl who disappeared before making it home from school. While concentrating on a sex predator, Gabriel takes drastic action to solve the case, putting his career and the investigation on the line.

Rated: TV-14 The funeral of an former police colleague of Flynn and Provenza takes an unexpected turn when the casket is dropped, revealing not only their friend’s body, but that of a nude, blonde woman, about whom Flynn and Provenza might know more than they realize. As Brenda investigates, she must also tangle with an irate bride who believes Brenda ruined her wedding. Brenda and Fritz’ efforts to find a house gain momentum.

Rated: TV-14-L When Provenza's card is found on the body of a missing teenaged gang member, it appears the boy may have tried to contact Provenza about a shooting, but disappeared before he could. As a result, Brenda soon put a priest, whose life's work centers on reforming teens involved with gangs, in the middle of her investigation, and finds he has an unexpected defender: Sgt. Gabriel. Back at home, Brenda must now deal with her father, who knows that she and Fritz are living together.

Rated: TV-14-V The third season opens with a 3:00am roll-out that sends the PHD to the scene of the brutal triple murder of a couple and their pre-teen daughter. As the team processes the crime scene, they make an unexpected discovery in the attic: the couple’s teenaged son, Eric, still alive and on drugs. At first, Eric seems to be their likely suspect. Complicating the investigation is the work history of Eric’s father, who seems to exist in name only, and the team’s inability to find his partner, a psychologist named Dr, Reichter whose cell phone is found at the murder scene. As connection between Eric’s father and the mysterious Dr. Reichter is revealed, so, too, is the identity of the murderer. Meanwhile, a financial crisis in the LAPD means Brenda must face budget cuts that include the loss of a detective. Determined to keep her team intact, Brenda vows to find the money, but instead, the solution comes from a surprising source. At the same time, Fritz tires of having no place for his belongings and decides he and Brenda should get a bigger house. When Brenda resists, he finds a way to make his point, and bring Brenda around to his way of thinking.
