When they argue over a trick gone bad, Brian walks out on the family and Peter replaces him with a cat. Brian struggles to assert his civil rights and soon ends up at the pound. Luckily, Peter is able to bail him out by bribing the judge.

Clark discovers the reason Lana married Lex then and sets out to kill Lionel. Lex tries to use DNA from the last phantom to power his super-soldiers. Lois goes to a dam to search for Lex’s lab but is caught by a security guard and fatally injured. Chloe’s power is discovered.

During a Beastie Boys concert, Bender runs into a high school buddy, Fender. Fender invites him to a party, which turns out to be robots getting high off of electricity, or “jacking on”. After one try, Bender is hooked. On a trip back from Sicily 8, the crew runs into an electrical disturbance. Bender sabotages the ship and it flies right into the field, allowing Bender to get stoned and Fry and Leela nearly get killed. Realizing what he has become, he decides to join Robotolgy, a robot religion. It soon becomes apparent the crew prefers the old Bender. To get him back to normal, they fake a delivery to Atlantic City and begin tempting Bender. Eventually, Bender gives in, and is kidnapped that night at a hotel. He wakes up with Beelzebot, the robot devil. He’s in Robot Hell.

Dwight wants a pact with Jim to fight the downsizing, and Michael regrets showing off when Oscar asks for sponsorship for a charity walk being undertaken by his nephew, who has cerebral palsy.
Michael doesn't want to upset the staff so he gets Dwight to pass on news about the company's reduced health provisions. Fed up with his nosiness, Jim and Pam pretend they are suffering from a variety of conditions including Ebola, Mad Cow Disease, spontaneous dentohydroplosion, hotdog fingers, nano-robot infection, and Count Choculitis.
A consultant arrives to teach the staff about tolerance and diversity but Michael insists on imparting his own knowledge. Meanwhile, Jim struggles to keep hold of a lucrative contract extension.
